Windows 8 File Management UI

The Windows 8 Blog has finally started giving us some real information about how Windows 8 will work and deal with more complicated issues.

Some of the main complaints users had with all the Windows versions in the past was how files were copied, managed and renamed. It looks like the people on the Windows 8 team at Microsoft are trying some user focused solutions.

I highly recommend taking a look at the blog and getting involved in the conversation. each post seems to reflect that they are actually reading our comments and trying to respond.

For a while it was looking like we were going to have to wait until the Build Conference on September 13 in Anaheim.

Windows 8 Cross-Platform UI Demonstration

A video demonstrating for the first time the new Windows 8 touch interface. The 32 minute video was shot at the Computex 2011 in Taiwan. The presenter is Mike Angiulo, Microsoft corporate vice president.


Microsoft and Nokia Team Up with Windows Phones

Nokia will no longer be developing using symbian and will delay their next version of meego now that they will be shipping their phones with the new Windows 7 mobile.
This is likely to be a positive for both Microsoft as well as Nokia as they were having a hard time keeping up with the Google & Apple juggernauts.
Stephen Elop left Microsoft only 5 months ago to work for Nokia. Was this his plan all along?
Regardless, the two companies are likely to get a boost in their revenue due to this partnership.
