iPhone 3.0 Software

presentation

Macworld did a great job of giving us a live commentary of what the improvements would be for the new software.

Rather than repeat them all, here is the link to the commentary:

Macworld iPhone 3.0 Commentary

There will be additional announcements over the coming week, but they did manage to get some of the 15 features I wrote about.

  • Turn by Turn direction capability
  • push notifications
  • Cut/Copy/Paste (YEAH!)
  • landscape in all apps
  • Spotlight now implemented

It seems the Beta is available for developers immediately Developer Center (NOTE: this was unavailable at the time of writing- possibly due to the update happening)

The software and upgrades will be available to consumers in the summer. It will be available for ALL iPhones and for $9.95 an upgrade for iPod Touch users as well.

  1. Thanks for taking the time to share this, I feel strongly about it and love reading more on this topic. If possible, as you gain knowledge, would you mind updating your blog with more information? It is extremely helpful for me.

  2. The new Zune browser is surprisingly good, but not as good as the iPod’s. It works well, but isn’t as fast as Safari, and has a clunkier interface. If you occasionally plan on using the web browser that’s not an issue, but if you’re planning to browse the web alot from your PMP then the iPod’s larger screen and better browser may be important.

  3. All I can say is… please write more. Oh My God, it seems as though I watched a video instead of reading an article…it’s so crystal clear. You really know what you’re talking about. My thought was, why waste your writing skills on blog articles when you could be authoring books? Think about it. You’re very good at what you do. WORD!

  4. There are some interesting points in this clause but I don’t know if I see all of them middle to centre . There is some validity but I will take hold opinion until I look into it further. Good clause, thanks and we want more! Added to FeedBurner besides.

  5. Between me and my husband we’ve owned more MP3 players over the years than I can count, including Sansas, iRivers, iPods (classic & touch), the Ibiza Rhapsody, etc. But, the last few years I’ve settled down to one line of players. Why? Because I was happy to discover how well-designed and fun to use the underappreciated (and widely mocked) Zunes are.

  6. You pretty much saved me atleast 1 hour of time. I am making a project about this topic and your blog has helped me through one of the topics of my project. I will browse to the other pages now.

  7. Great piece of data that you’ve obtained on this website submit. Hope I will get some far more of the stuff on your own website. I will are available again.

  8. To every one the above commentors. Blogs can be much better to read if You can keep Your comments simple and to the point. No-one likes to read massive comments when the content can be conveyed using a not as long comment.

  9. Hi good post, im currently studying this at college. I like your blog there’s some real helpful stuff on here. Will check back soon to see if you have posted anymore pages, thanks

  10. The new Zune browser is surprisingly good, but not as good as the iPod’s. It works well, but isn’t as fast as Safari, and has a clunkier interface. 11. Apple now has Rhapsody as an app, which is a great start, but it is currently hampered by the inability to store locally on your iPod, and has a dismal 64kbps bit rate. If this changes, then it will somewhat negate this advantage for the Zune, but the 10 songs per month will still be a big plus in Zune Pass’ favor.

  12. There are many different forms of routers of which carry out various things perfectly: some are inexpensive, some tackle a huge community perfectly, some will be straightforward for starters make use of while others are incredibly quickly. Around Ideal Wireless Modem the new year you will evaluate many hubs with different strengths and weaknesses.

  13. My good friend and I have been quarrelling concerning an issue related to this! Now I know that I was correct. Thank you for the information and facts you posted.

  14. Strange this post is totaly unrelated to what I was searching google for, but it was listed on the first page. I guess your doing something right if Google likes you enough to put you on the first page of a non related search. 🙂
