XBMC 11 Beta Released

I’ve been jailbreaking my Apple TV2 essentially from the day I got it. My family and I use two main features on it:

Netflix streaming and XBMC.

If you are not familiar with it, this add-on available either as an install via zip or using the ATV Flash (Black) makes your Apple TV into a streaming powerhouse that allows you to access nearly all television content like a DVR. XBMC works on nearly any OS and has been in development for years.

The beta version of XBMC 11 has now been released. Version 11 “Eden” adds lots of new features and improvements to the open source home theater software for both Mac and Windows. See more after the break Continue reading

My favorite cell phone was for many years, the Razor (& the Krazr)

All the best rumors about the release today say that Motorola and Google have teamed up to release something similar with the Android operating system on it.

Leak of Ice Cream Sandwich

An anonymous shopper got his Nexus S shipped with Ice Cream Sandwich (Android version to be release around the end of 2011).

He was nice enough to send out this video on Engadget.

This also makes me wonder if we’ll just go ahead and skip the honeycomb update to the Google TV and go right to ice cream Sandwich as per Eric Schmidt’s announcement last week.

New Glue Could make Microprocessors 1000x More Powerful

IBM and 3M are working on a new type of adhesive to glue computer processors together into stacks. If they can make it happen, this could mean an entirely new generation of chips which are a thousand times more powerful than anything we have now. See the video after the break.
