Mobile Flash 10.1 on Droid 2

Motorola and Verizon have announced the availability of DROID 2, a new smartphone that for first time will have Flash Player 10.1 pre-installed and benefit from H.264 HW decoding of all H.264 video profiles. DROID 2 will be available starting August 11 on www.verizonwireless.com and in stores on August 12.

Adobe is working with Motorola, Verizon, and Google on plan to deliver Flash Player 10.1 to the original Droid and will provide an update as soon as possible.

Steve Jobs: Flash is No Longer Necessary

Steve Jobs wrote an open letter regarding why he does not support Flash on the iPod touch, iPhone & iPad.

The main points he makes have to do with how the software is proprietary, it is not mobile-friendly and was created before the modern tools were available (HTML5, css & javascript).

Flash Catalyst Video Tour

All these new tools coming out of Adobe Labs! It is making it easier and easier for designers and developers to communicate easily with each other. My hope is that it will lead to better collaboration which brings better products for humans.

This is a great resource for people who utilize CS3 tools for architecture, engineering and construction.

I am not in the AEC industry and still found Scott’s tutorials and videos very informative. Really cool effects for 3D modeling and utilizing extensions in Photoshop and AfterEffects.
